A few days back, details started coming in that Samsung might be working on a new version of the Galaxy Tab 7, which would be a lighter version of the Galaxy Tab 7. However, new news has started coming in that the company will be launching the new Galaxy Tab 8 in August this year, which is the same month last year which was reserved for the launch of the Tab 7 series. The details have been shared by a Youtuber name The Galox, who claims that the Galaxy Tab S8 will only come with a minor upgrade over its predecessor.
As per the details given by the Youtuber, the Tab S8 will be powered using the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is one of the most powerful chipsets in smartphones currently and will have an 11-inch LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate support. The fingerprint scanner on the device will be integrated into the power button. The second variant, which will be the Tab S8+ will come equipped with a different type of display, which is a 12.4-inch AMOLED panel that will deliver a 120Hz refresh rate.
The plus variant will have an in-display fingerprint scanner and will also be powered using the same SD 888 chipset. The tab is expected to come in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants and will offer 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB as storage variants. The tablets are expected to be powered using a 10,090 mAh battery and 25W/45W fast charging support. Although the hardware upgrades seem to be minor, it is expected that the major upgrades could be visible in the new device in form of software capabilities.
