The screen borders of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the thinnest of any smartphone, beating the current record holder Xiaomi 13. This is according to the well-known leaker “Ice Universe“, who has previously released precise information regarding Apple’s plans.
iPhone 15 Pro versions likely have narrower, curved screen edges than the iPhone 14 Pro, giving them a look akin to the Apple Watch. The larger 6.7-inch model will have minor screen edges if the leaker is correct.
Ice Universe tweeted that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would break the Xiaomi 13’s 1.81mm screen edges record. The black screen edge on Apple’s future generation will be only 1.55 mm. Ice Universe compares the screen edges of the iPhone 14 Pro (2.17 mm) with the Samsung Galaxy Ultra S23 (1.95 mm).
As per Ice Universe, this alludes to the Xiaomi 13’s bottom edge, or the leaker meant 1.61 mm, as seen in the image above. We have requested confirmation and will post an update if we receive it. In any event, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s screen margins should be significantly thinner.
According to rumors, the screen edges of all four iPhone 15 models would be slightly bent, similar to the iPhone 11 series. Nonetheless, the expected iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus screen borders should be the same width as those of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 15 display sizes are also expected to match the previous year’s series.
The iPhone 15 Pro models may resemble the Apple Watch Series 7 and 8 with even thinner screen borders. According to speculations, the Pro models will also include a titanium frame rather than stainless steel and solid-state volume, silence, and turn-off keys that do not physically move when pressed.
Ice Universe has previously published CAD images and specifications indicating that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be distinctive, with a slimmer camera bucket and a smaller footprint.
As customary, Apple is anticipated to reveal its next iPhone series in September.
