LinkedIn is one of the most popular professional social networks available online and now the platform is going to launch another social audio feature that is similar to Clubhouse. The same feature has also been added to multiple social platforms in the past such as Facebook which is reportedly building something similar. Twitter Spaces is also rolling out a similar feature where users can interact through audio.
Similarly, Mark Cuban, Spotify, and Slack are also working on bringing this feature to the platform. The idea of shared audio space has become a lot more popular as users are preferring audio conversation more over text. Now LinkedIn has also jumped into the same pool. As per the official statement from LinkedIn, “We’re doing some early tests to create a unique audio experience connected to your professional identity. And, we’re looking at how we can bring audio to other parts of LinkedIn such as events and groups, to give our members even more ways to connect to their community.”
They have confirmed that they will soon be testing the feature in the Beta phase and it features a stage of speakers front and center and a list of people in the audience lower down the screen. LinkedIn is also working on a new Creator mode which will make the user a LinkedIn content creator on the profile. There is no confirmation as to when the feature can be launched on the platform, but it seems like LinkedIn will make it available in Q2 or Q3 of this year.
