Twitter has been working on a lot of new features ever since the pandemic started to increase the interaction of people through digital space. The company announced a new feature called Spaces, which was only available to a few users globally for testing. However, the company has not decided to roll out the feature to more users around the world and test out its feature of Clubhouse-style audio chat rooms. As per the company, Android users will not be able to host spaces, but they will be able to join and talk in spaces, with hosting coming soon.
The feature is new and will let the users create space which is public or private audio chat rooms. The feature was announced in December last year and was only limited to iOS devices. Now the company has expanded it to Android users as well but in the testing phase. Android users might face bugs and issues but the same will be resolved and updated by Twitter over time. In their official statement, they mentioned that “We’re expanding to give more people a chance to join Spaces and listen in! Rolling out over the next few days, people with Android will now be able to join, listen, and speak in conversations over Spaces.”
They also confirmed that since it is a new feature, they are being cautious towards it and features like recording conversations, which could find fans among podcasters and monetizing Spaces. The feature will be rolled out to select Android users from next week and other users over the coming weeks, so one should keep an eye out for an update.
