Microsoft had a great start for the year 2021 with the Xbox series X gaming console and now the company is focusing on the accessories that can be used with them. The company has recently announced a new pair of headphones that are specifically targeted at the gaming community. The wireless headset for Xbox comes a decade after something similar was announced for Xbox 360 in 2011. The new wireless gaming headphones come in a black leather finish on the earcups and also have an adjustable headband. The headphones also come with a green highlight that is exactly what we can find on the Surface headphones.
The headphones also come with an adjustable microphone with an auto-mute function that is activated when you stop talking. It also has a dedicated mute button and a LED notification light that can let you know when the microphone is active. As per the company, “it has dual beamforming microphone elements that focus on speech audio vs surround sound“. Microsoft claims that the headphones can provide up to 15 hours of battery capacity in a single charge, but they have not confirmed the specs on battery capacity. They also claim that charging the headphones for 30-minutes will give 4 hours of working time.
The headphones can be charged via USB-C cable and the full charge time for the device is three hours. It also comes with features like equalizer settings, bass boost, auto mute, microphone LED brightness, and more with the Xbox Accessories app. The headphones are said to be compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One series, and Windows 10 devices (via Bluetooth 4.2/Xbox wireless adapter or compatible USB-C cable). The headphones will be available for sale at a price of $99 on March 16 worldwide.
