When it comes to iPhones, one of the major features that users have been expecting the company to add over the time was in-display fingerprint scanner, which is already available in their rival Android smartphones. Although the feature has still not been added, it seems that Apple might be adding it to their smartphones in the future. Apple was granted a patent in September last year which covers the in-screen Touch ID.
Some of the new reports suggest that this year, the new iPhone series can bring under-display Touch ID and Face ID together. So it can be expected that this year, the iPhone 13 smartphone could come with both these biometric authentication features. The report has been confirmed by both Bloomberg and WSJ, giving a lot of base to these rumors. However, the patent does not mean that the company will be using the feature for sure this year as they already have patents on their name since 2016 which has still not been used in their devices.
The same information was also tweeted by tipster L0vetodream in October last year about bringing in in-display fingerprint and Face ID in the new series of iPhone. Apart from these, the new iPhones series will also see a change in the use of display, where the mini LED technology could be used, similar to what they have been planning for the new iPad that will be launched this year. So we can expect a lot more leaks to appear in the coming months which would reveal more information about the new Apple devices.
