Apple explains the design philosophy of the Airpods Max case

Earlier this month, Apple launched its first over-the-ear headphones name, Airpods Max. As soon as the Airpods was launched it was highly criticized for the high price at which it was launched. The Airpods Max was launched at Rs 59,990 and has come with a case that claimed to be the subject of curiosity for many people. There was a lot of speculation on why Apple decided to get a weird case design for the headphones but as per Apple’s philosophy, they wanted to have a unique design to get a competitive edge in the market.

In an interview with the Japanese news site, Apple gave the logic behind the Airpods Max case. Eugene Whang, industrial designer, Bob Borchers, VP of product marketing, and Evans Hankey, Apple’s VP of industrial design, spoke about AirPods Max at length. As per them, the design of the case was made to provide more efficient storage for the headphones.

As per their official statement, “Today, most headphones come with large, cumbersome cases, but we travel a lot, so we know how important it is to fit in a bag. The case has a structure in which one sheet is cut out and fastened in several places so that it becomes three dimensional. The band in the cover becomes like a holder to carry the headphones and with the exposed band, it is possible to have a function that you can easily grasp it with your hand and take it out of the bag.” As per Apple, the case design is more practical and provides more useful but it does not stop people from making some memes about it.
